Thank you for visiting this page
This page, and the subpages beneath are for use by Tallwood high school visiting delegation from Israel. We have been fortunate to foster a relationship with Israeli delegations since 2009, where both delegations from Israel arrived in the United States, and our own delegations visited Israel. This is part of a larger program through the American-Israeli Friendship League and in Virginia Beach is an initiative started through the efforts of Superintendent Dr. James Merrill.
This partnership has been positive beyond explanation, and has warranted the following email from Ms. Cassidy Anthony, the fantastically organized programming coordinator (and a wonderful person to boot):
"We enjoy introducing the world to our future leaders and cherish our longstanding relationship with you and your colleagues at Tallwood High School. We are truly grateful for Dr. Merrill for initiating our wonderful connection which we hope will last for many years to come. "
No doubt it will. More information on the program may be obtained at:

Tallwood has also been the host of numerous speakers through the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and the Holocaust Commission, both housed in the Hampton Roads area. Through incredible leadership, these organizations very respectfully coordinate classroom visits of area Holocaust survivors, of which Tallwood has had the great honor of having three different speakers over the last five years. Also, an annual contest regarding tolerance and respect, often in the context of the holocaust, is offered to students in the categories of essay writing, media production, and art submissions. For more information on either of these programs, feel free to contact me at [email protected] where I can give you further contact information.

Panel Discussion Specifics
Stay tuned for further announcements due to the "Inclement Weather" regarding Hurricane Sandy. Should school be closed, we will await a response from Ms. Gurley regarding any rescheduling, if that is the decision. Stay safe, everyone.
Please note, the following categories are completed, but being combined into one document: Panel members / moderators should look over any materials already received in preparation. Saturday I am away to UVA on a college visit; Sunday, I will try to give more details to the items directly below. Regardless, however, Monday during second block there is the assembly. All of first block is dedicated to practice. Please look at the details for what to bring on Monday.
Brief overview: submitted to panel members/ under development
Bios: collected /under development
Questions: submitted to panel members and moderator / under development
Subquestions Pool: collected / under development
The Details (What to Do): (submitted 10/27/2012): Each panel member has already been contacted and been given the Questions as an overview. On Monday, during first block, panel members will have a full run practice to smooth out the details. This will be more than enough practice time, but will allow panel members to fully develop their answers prior to being asked specific questions.
Please dress casual professional and note that you will be on stage, so be aware of such concerns as skirt length if you chose to dress with a skirt.
Tables, chairs and microphones will be set up by the custodians for the event.
All communication for organizing the Panel event can be done at:
