Ok,ok, ok
Let's be clear. The following is a suggested self study for all AP World history students, and an encouragement to continue to utilize the class study group. I am not assigned to take over the AP World History class next year, but would like to offer my resources to those in need. Feel free to peruse the content listed under APWH, feel free to make meaningful contributions to the wikispace, and feel free to share your knowledge with your friends. Be sure to complete the required coursework for the credited class you are taking, however. Just use this as an additional resource.
Thanks,

This week's assignment June 17, 2013-June 21
Learn/Study everything about the early Chinese Dynasties....Use PERSIA in your notes.
After taking notes on, write a culmulative essay using PERSIA as your guide.
Post your writings on the greatexp.wikispaces.com as well as good sources to go to. Make sure you have at least three reliable sources in your notes. Noodletool everything.
For your notetaking pleasure, you may use the following as a guide:
(P) Politically what is happening?
(E) Economically what is the situation
(R) Religiously what is the belief system(s)
(S) Socially what is the hierarchy
(I) Intellectually what is the technological possibilities?
(A) Artistically what does the art reflect in society? what does it create in society?
When you take PERSIA notes, take notes normally, then either select a different highlighter for each of the elements of PERSIA and highlight your notes accordingly. Remember that an event / situation / consequence, etc. can often be more than one element of PERSIA. PERSIA is an excellent notes method because when converting to writing essays (there are three required on the exam), select the most prevelant items and use those as your organization for paragraphs. In other words, while writing an essay after taking good PERSIA notes, make body paragraph 1 about religion, body paragraph 2 about art, and body paragraph 3 about economics, assuming that these three elements come up the most in your notes. Always use transitions (this is a MUST) to show the relationship between the paragraphs (relationships of comparisons/contrasts earn major pointage, so make it obvious in your transitions and explain more than you think necessary).
For your reference, Politics include political positions, military might, laws, authority, centralization and decentralizataion of government, civic involvement and evolution of enfranchisement. Economics involves money, allocations, resources, political maneuvering to protect, provide, or prevent allocation of money or resources, business transactions, hegemony of the private sector. Religion includes all belief systems and philosophies, major and minor (including fringe and splinter groups) belief systems, social acceptance of beliefs, societal control, core movement of ideas, institutionalization of ideas, cultural diffusion, alienation and clashes, moral codes, amoral codes, orientation towards spiritual purpose and destination. Social includes classes, race, gender, minority and dominant groupings, shifts in power hierarchies and reasons for those shifts, continuities of social hierarchy and reasons for the status quo. Intellectual involves technological capabilities, access to technology, movements which support spread of ideas (causes and consequences). Art involves all mediums and techniques used, meaning behind artwork, major contributors and effect on society, acceptance of art and societal meaning placed on art, art as a reflection of societal values, art as a creator of societal values, technological advancements and its effect and art and visa versa.
After taking notes on, write a culmulative essay using PERSIA as your guide.
